Our Disclosures

At The Brian Madden Company, we pride ourselves on being independent. To us, being "independent" means that we write about whatever we want and that our opinions are ours, without being influenced by outside companies, vendors, or people.

A few notes:

• None of the employees of The Brian Madden Company owns a substantial portion or controlling interest in any of the companies of vendors we mention on this site.
• We do not sell any products from any vendors.
• We do not receive any kickbacks or other compensation for pushing one product over another.
• The products that we choose to write about are based on what we think are cool products and what we feel would make a good article. We don't take money to endorce any product over another.

What we will do with vendors:

• Vendors may purchase advertisements on this site.
• Vendors may sponsor our events such as BriForum.
• Vendors can hire use to write papers as long as the papers are technical. Writing a paper about how to use a vendor's product is fine, since that's objective in nature and we feel that we have the best writers in the industry. Writing a paper about why one vendor's product is better than another's is not something that we'll do. (But don't worry vendors! There are plenty of "other" sites in this industry that will take your money and then write good things about you!)

What we won't do with vendors:

• We will not accept money to do a product review.
• We will not accept money to write about a vendor.
• We will not give a vendor any special treatment just because they bought an ad or something.
• We do not have any programs where vendors can pay us to be in their club.

The Bottom Line

You don't have to agree with all of our opinions. (And certainly a lot of people don't!) However, you can rest assured that our opinions are our honest opinions, and that they haven't been swayed, bought, or influenced by anyone.
