It was
announced today that Tarantella is buying New Moon. Both of these companies
have "fringe" products for various thin client computing solutions, although New
Moon's Canaveral iQ is probably the biggest threat to Citrix. (Canaveral iQ does
about 80% of what MetaFrame does for about 50% of the price.) Tarantella's
products have traditionally focused in the UNIX space, so it will be interesting
to see whether the combination of the two companies will be able to offer some
serious competition to Citrix.
