Tuesday - Sessions and keynotes (oh my!)

The sessions have had tremendous turnout for the attendees.  In many of the supersessions that I have attended there has been an extremely long waiting line for people that were not able to schedule them.  These sessions have ranged from top 10 issues with VirtualCenter to implementing Active Directory in a virtualized environment.  As with all conferences the quality of the sessions varies with each presenter and topic.  I have had some very good level 3 courses and some that seemed more like they were level 1.  But that is par for the course.

There are more time slots allocated this year than in previous years and so the amount of information that you can gather in one day is astounding.  Quite often it is difficult to get in a bite to eat and get to your session in time.  But I've been able to survive so far!  As always it is very informative with regards to the people that you meet and the discussions you have about environments.

The topic that is of interest is one of tomorrow's keynote speaker which is John Chambers from Cisco.  Cisco and Intel were a couple of the companies which invested with VMware recently.  It is anticipated that he will speak about virtualizing network switches and the configuration being maintained with systems when they are migrated or deployed.

Much of the blog entries that we have offered emphasize the VMware products and announcements simply because they are the major items in the keynotes and such.  There are other topics being announced by various major and minor vendors alike.  But since we can't be in all places at all times we'll leave some of those items to be picked up in the regular news.
