This is a video of a breakout session from BriForum Europe 2007, presented by Kjetil Ermesjø.

Session Description: Citrix and Microsoft are now direct competitors in the application virtualization market. Bboth of them deliver products well capable of handling the major challenges that we face in our quest to gain full control over our application deliveries.

This presentation will look ”under the hood” of Application Isolation Environment (AIE) v2.0 and The SoftGrid SystemGuard technology. Kjetil will use the introduction part of the presentation to clearify some basic facts and definitions before diving into the details of the two technologies. He'll will show similarities and differences and talk about why one application can bahve in different ways, depending on which of the two that provides the virtualization.

Kjetil will not focus on the streaming/profiling bit as that is covered elsewhere. Instead, this presentation will mainly be about how the environment on the client computer or Terminal Server works.
