This is a video of a breakout session from BriForum 2007, presented by Charles Aunger.
Session Description: In this session, Charles will talk about how you can understand
the scalability benefits of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 32-bit and
x64 Editions in Citrix and Terminal Server deployments. He'll talk
about x64 scalability with with real-life support from DELL, AMD and HP
and give you a better understanding of how the performance numbers are
derived and obtained.
This session will also include:
- Tips and tricks for performance tuning
- Real life side-by-side testing, and scaling for examples of applications
- Hands on demos of how testing can pay dividends
- How will Longhorn effect SBC scaling?
Why you would want to attend this session: This session's aim is to get conversation and interaction as
workshop / chalktalk session using the real-world scaling and platform
numbers to stimulate the conversation.
The main reason is that the myths of x64 SBC platforms are unknown
to a lot of people, and people need to about this in order to calculate
real TCO and expand their infrastructures. This session will separate
the performance truth from the rumors.
