I am getting a lot of requests to help people understand the differences between the new Microsoft App-V 5 and the previous versions. Given the complete rewrite of the product, that is a multi-day conversation if you want all of the details.

So I threw an attempt to explain the differences between App-V before version 5 and version 5. It is a 16 minute video to explains the main differences at the client and how this affects your ability to deploy certain applications. Microsoft calls these virtual application extension points, which is confusing everyone.  Hopefully this will help.
