At Citrix Synergy 2011 in San Francisco, Gabe Knuth talked to Citrix's Ramesh Krishnaram about what's coming in future versions of XenApp. (Citrix didn't specify *when* these features would come, or what the next version of XenApp would be. But all the features shown here are NOT part of XenApp 6. So we can assume they are from what will be XenApp 6.1 or XenApp 6.5 or XenApp 7. (Or maybe XenApp 8.. who knows?)
The three specific new features that were shown off today include:
- An enhanced Desktop Experience, to make a Terminal Server / Remote Desktop Session Host desktop look and feel like a "real" Windows 7 local desktop, including Aero, etc.
- Instant access to XenApp published apps with two new features called "Session Prelaunch" and "Session Linger"
- A single management location for apps called Citrix XenApp AppCenter.
