Wireless woes

Encountered many individuals experiencing WLAN issues.  Might have something to do with the numerous ad-hoc networks broadcasting and potentially interfering with the BriForum access points.  If you have an ad-hoc network enabled, please disable it.  If it is broadcasting on the same frequency (and channel) as the access points, it could be interfering with BriForum WLAN connectivity.

Heard that the wireless issues this morning were DHCP releated (not enough IPs?).  Issues involving a good wireless signal but no IP address should be resolved.  Issues involving wireless signal could still be related to interference (I usually see a high number of available ad-hoc networks when experiencing wireless signal issues).

As Brian explained this afternoon the reason that there were wifi issues this morning was due to the fact that the planet finally ran out of IPv4 addresses.  That's right, right here at Briforum we consumed the last IPv4 address known to man and finaly gave evidence that, contrary to popular belief, there is actually an IPv4 crisis.  Now those of us that have been denying it will be cursed just like those who deny Albert Gore's global warming warnings.
