This year's BriForum has the most attendees ever

As of 3:10 this afternoon, we have 440 people coming to BriForum, making it a fair amount bigger than last year's event with 400 people. This is pretty cool for us, especially considering that event attendance in general is really down this year due to the economy. (Citrix's Synergy event only had 2000 people instead of 4000, although that could be because they changed the name, date, AND location!)

We have people from more countries than ever before too. In addition to the expected North American and European countries, we have a few people coming up from Australia, as well as people from Slovenia, Taiwan, and Israel.

Sponsorship is really strong too. We have support from 21 different sponsors this year, including 17 companies who will show off their technologies in our DEMO Lab. We've been here at the Navy Pier all day today, and some companies have some pretty impressive setups. (DataCore and Kemp Technologies' booths required forklifts to get their gear into the building.)

In the last three minutes, my emotions have cycled through nervous, excited, worried, nervous, and excited. I wonder whether palm sweat damages a laptop?

Brian,

I’ve been fortunate to have attended the first two BriForums and they were worth every penny.  It’s not surprising to me that attendance is up since your conference already has a positive reputation.  Unfortunately, I’m not able to attend this year’s conference.  As much as I would love to be there, I have other commitments that need my attention.  Best of luck with BriForm 2008!

Regards,

Matt

I will not be able to attend Briforum but I would like to suggest to those of you who are going and use twitter and are twittering the event to add #briforum to the start or end of each of your tweets. There is a service called twemes.com  that will then pull all of the #briforum chatter into one site so those of us not there and those of you there also can all chat together in a group via twitter.  The site would be http://m.twemes.com/briforum  for your phone or just http://twemes.com/briforum from the web.

RSS will work also! http://twemes.com/briforum.rss
