BriForum Europe Videos Online!!

At last, the videos from BriForum Amsterdam 2007 are going online!  As of now, about half of them are viewable.  Keep checking over the next few days and the rest should be available to stream as well.

Remember that you have to logon to the site, and once you log on and go to the Breakout Sessions section, you'll see the icon to play the video.

Thank you so much for being as patient as you have been.  We've been working really hard trying to turn these videos out in a reasonable time, but technical glitches hit us hard this time...about 10 minutes after I posted "They'll be ready in two weeks" in early November :)

Next week I'll be working on mastering the DVD's and getting them sent off to the manufacturer.  If I had to guess at a date for them to be available, I'd say at least mid-January, but probably the end of January due to the holidays.  Soon we will be opening pre-orders for DVD's, which will also permit access to the online, streaming content (which is a new feature as of BriForum Europe).

Any questions/comments/problems, let me know at gabe@brianmadden.com

Most of the videos are online now.  The stragglers will be making up in the next few days as we get them re-encoded and uploaded.  It's a slow process, but we're pretty close to having them all set.

I'm very excited to see the videos are (for the most part) online!!!! Are we able to download the videos too??? 'Cause downloading 15GB (or more) is not really a problem and I'm a great fan of not watching video streaming... Also is mentioned on the site that we would be able to download them... (Something like a copy of the configuration of this particular piece of website so I would be able to put it onto the intranet at my work, so my co-workers can enjoy and learn from this experience also...)

Must have been a huge pile of work...well done Gabe...!

@E.Bouwman: this is the text from the Briforum site:

BriForum 2007 Amsterdam attendees will be able to purchase the DVD of the event at the very special price of $49. However, as an attendee, you will get online access to all of the same content that is on the DVD, so you only need to buy the DVD if you don't feel like downloading the 15GB of video content from the website.

I saw that you can pre-order the dvd set for $225 Where do you sign up for the $49 version as attendee..?

@A. Nikolic: I read it and I don't mind downloading the 15GB. If we would be able to have the video files (and perhaps the source of the webpages in which they are published) I would easily be able to put them on our intranet-site. That would make it also possible to make a selection in the videos I would post on our intranet.

@E.Bouwman
I thought you wouldn't mind that's why I pasted the text from the briforum site ;)
All jokes on the side...I guess we have to wait what Gabe and Brian decide...to download or not to download that IS the question..!

We've been trying to get a good way to make these videos downloadable, but we don't have a perfect solution yet.  We'll have a new player by BriForum US 2008, and for that version we will keep the downloadable idea in mind, but for now we've yet to come up with anything great.  If we do, I'll post back here.

Using standard IE6 on XP in a corporate environment (behind a firewall). None of the video content ever appears (just get a barbers pole) after the Brian Madden logo. (And it changs the browser). Sent email to Gabe early Jan. No reply.
