Here's a quick video interview I did at VMworld last month with David Spark about the Consumerization of IT. I think I had been talking for about three days straight at this point, so my voice is starting to go, but I think it's a good overview of how I view how consumerization will impact the world of IT. (Hint: It's more than BYOC and BYOD.)

That's so true, IT departments spends huge amount of time tying to control every piece of their internal security while the main risks comes from unverifiable users habits....

So true.

No matter how tight you lock it down sooner than later arises the reactive need for a black hole to satisfy a clueless superuser to use his own set of "tools". Sadly this usually comes from the people demanding the highest level of information security but at the same time exclude themselves from the highly inefficient bureaucratic model they applied for the rest.

I've got mixed feelings for our private cloud; kind of like watching my mother-in-law fall down the cliff driving my own car.
