You talk alot about dropbox.. but what about security when we talk dropbox, should we block access from the enterprise systems to dropbox?

Should we just trust the users and hope they dont upload business cretical data?

Do we just trust dropbox and let them upload to it?

The problem is that it's almost impossible to block users from accessing Dropbox or services like that, because we need to support all these different devices/desktops.

I have a hard time figuring out what to do about Dropbox, because it's really easy and it solves a lot of sharing issues, but when it gets this easy there is a big chance that the user will use this a lot and in the end might not think about what he/she are uploading.

2Mads: Answer is usually very simple. You cannot avoid DropBox, but you could potentially get in control by providing the end users with similar enterprise functionality. That way you can avoid the biggest concern regarding DropBox - instead of storing your users data somewhere in the cloud, you are going to store them in your own datacenter.

If you want to convince your users to use this service, simple offer them better\cheaper\more storage.

You could potentially have different policies for different folders (I'm using Live Mesh, don't like the idea of DropBox to have single folder for everything - not sure if it still applies), so for example the one being shared with external users would allow you to store only some kind of data.
