BriForum 2007 is on track to sell out

by Brian Madden

BriForum 2007 is now only three weeks away. I've written a lot about all the new cool things we're doing this year, and we'll be announcing some more things this week. However, I wanted to post a quick note that it looks like we'll definitely sell out of admission tickets this year. If we continue at the current pace, it looks like we'll probably sell out about the middle of next week. (Maybe April 10th or so?)

I realize that posting this comment might cause a spike and cause us to sell out sooner. Then again, registrations may slow down and maybe we won't sell out. But I just wanted to let you know that if you were unsure about whether you could attend, or you were still talking to your boss about it, you should try to make a decision in the next few days.

Our venue in Chicago, the Gleacher Center, cannot possibly hold more than 350 people, so unfortunately we will not be able to increase the registration size. We will look for a bigger place next year (still in Chicago though). And of course we will make DVDs available (with all new video technology that is even better than last year) for those of you who cannot attend.

See everyone in three weeks!

Hi,

I know there are some guys who live in Chicago. What are "the must have seen" attractions of Chicago when you have a few days extra time ?.

With regards,
Ruben

Chicago has some great museums.  If you need some indoor activities, you can't go wrong with these.  Other than the museum of science and industry most of these are pretty close to downtown.  There's a lot of other cool things to do but would involve more travel or nicer weather.

Museums
Art Institute of Chicago
Field Museum of Natural History
Alder Planitarium
Shedd Aquarium
Museum of Science and Industry

Other things to see in Chicago in a pinch:
Navy Pier (touristy though)
John Hancock Observatory
Sears Tower Observatory

Museum of Science and Industry is the best.
Water Tower Place / Miracle Mile
Gino's pizza
Shedd's Aquarium
Baseball season is also starting so you could catch a game

I'll tell you how that's going to go down.  The Cubs are going to lose.  Now use that time more wisely. ;)

So is there an agenda posted yet? Yes, I know - blisteringly hard work - I believe it. But you gotta nail it sometime, right? I really need to be thinking about where my time is best spent. But geez - really looking forward to it - it'll be my first one.

LOL - hopefully!

Baseball is a great time - but I think it is also an excuse for my co-workers to start the beer consumption.
