BriForum 2007 will take place Monday, April 23 through Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at The Gleacher Center in Chicago.
We're working on getting the website up right now, but we wanted to get this information out there since lots of people have been emailing and asking about it.
The “call for presentations” aspect of BriForum Europe 2006 (where we invited everyone from the community submit and present presentations) was a huge success, and we’ll be giving everyone the opportunity to speak at BriForum 2007 as well.
Why Chicago? A lot of people from the west coast have been asking for us to move it closer to them, and Chicago is a great town, a wonderful place for a conference, and easily accesible from all of North America. (Of course it's makes the flight from Europe a few hours longer, but since Europe has its own BriForum now we felt okay about moving the US conference more towards the center of the US.) We'll end the conference early enough on Wednesday so that you still have time to catch a flight home that night.
The Gleacher Center is a very cool event space located in downtown Chicago, right on the Chicago River. (map)
Full details, including registration, location and hotel information, call for papers, and dates & deadlines will be available next week when we finish the BriForum 2007 website.
