Will someone please sell me a Citrix Access Gateway?

I wrote about Citrix's new hardware appliances, the Citrix Access Gateway, a few days ago. I think these devices are really cool and I'd love to use one internally to secure the remote access to my own systems for our employees. The problem is, I can't seem to get me hands on one of these things!

I asked Citrix if they could provide me with an NFR or demo unit, and they told me that they could not. They suggested that I contact a reseller. I've contacted four resellers so far, and not a single one has gotten back to me!

I know that this hardware thing is new for Citrix, but come on... If the product is available now (as listed on their site) then why can't I find one?

So, I ask you (the public), if you work for a Citrix reseller and you can get me a Citrix Access Gateway, please let me know. (Of course I want to buy this from you. I'm not expecting it for free.) You'll get a quick and easy sale and a place in my heart. :)

My reseller says he just got off of training for it.

He could get pricing to you, but they are on backorder.

I got some more information about the CAG availability from a reseller. He said:

Only Ingram Micro is allowed to distrubute these until March. (If the reseller doesn’t have an Ingram account, they can’t resell it.)

The units take 2 – 8 weeks to get in, according to Citrix, and so far they have not shipped a single one.

They have introduced a new level of certification required to resell the units. Given their shiny newness, hardly anyone is authorized.

Yay! More tests, more market segmentation. I can hardly wait... It'll be just like the old NFuse Elite days....we all know how well that segmentation worked don't we!

Server Centric has one of ten that are out for demo. The Citrix folks that came in town for Geek Day didn't even have one. Good luck in your quest!

I heard that if you already have or buy MSAM licenses in the next couple months, they will throw in the Secure Gateway device licences for free. Then you just have to buy the device.

ctx has only a little testpool a the moment i heared. i they don't sell any units before june.

Our Platinum Reseller told us that until the end of March Citrix will give you a CAG license for every MSAM license you have. So you can Purchase an MSAM license and get a CAG license. Who ever thought you would get 2 for 1 from Citrix.

As far as CAG availability I hear that Net6 had only sold 200 before Citrix bought them and now they need to ramp up to 400 a month. It looks like Citrix under estimated the demand.

We are trying to get a unit for testing and it looks like it will be awhile before we can get a unit.

I placed an order with a local reseller (who I will name once I get the thing).. They told me that I am order #5 in the queue (out of hundreds) and that they don't know when I'll get it, but I'll pretty much be the first as far as commercial sales are concerned. Everyone I've been talking to is saying that theses are the hottest things they've seen in a long time.

I have been using the Net6 ssl vpn, now the Citrix Access Gateway, in my production network for about six months. It is a good product but it is lacking in some areas. I hope citrix makes some improvments before shipping especially in the area of authentication. If you are using a Radius server and the password expires there is no pass through to allow the user to change the password. They are just locked out unless they have an alternative way to change their password. This can become a big issue if you have more then a few remote employees and wish to enforce password policy and use Radius. Other then that it a sold product and it really will work with any application. I have not had one issue with access from any of the application I use. Looking forward to the first software update from Citrix to see what direction they will be going in. Sorry this post really doesn't help with your request to purchase one but thought I would give my impression.

We have 2 in our office. I got certified to resell the product while attending the Citrix iForum in January. Passed the tests and ordered the units. It only took about 2 weeks to get them but we, as a reseller, got them directly from Citrix as part of the big certification promo there were running. This was before Ingram Micro got involved (I believe).
We are using one in the office for demos but the other is for sale.

Iwas told by Citrix here in the U.K that it will take quite a while to get a test unit, my reseller don't even respond to me, if anyone have contacts for resellers that will be able to give me a trail here in the UK it will be great !!!!

We didn't have any trouble getting the Access Gateway's. I got certified while in Florida for iForum. Ordered the boxes right away and got 2 of them within 2-3 weeks. Hostmaster@WeHostBiz.com

I have been selling the Access Gateway's since January with an average of a 4 day shipping time. So far the only concern that I have heard is that you can't test Kiosk mode from within your network.

Hi, I'm curious, we're about to get a demo on the CAG but I'm not to sure about this yet. Do we need something like radius as another level of authentication ?
