What would you ask the Terminal Server Product Group at Microsoft?

On Wednesday of this week, I’ll be spending the day with the Terminal Server product group at Microsoft. (Along with Ron Oglesby, Christa Anderson, and Claudio Rodrigues.)

What questions should I ask them? Do you have any feedback you’d like to provide to them about current or future versions of Terminal Server? What do you like and not like?

Is it true what Citrix can do, terminal server can do also with additional configurations from Group Policy?

In the past (and even still, to a degree) Microsoft has been reluctant to go public with any of the terminal services information. Your site has brought a lot of news out into the open. I would ask Microsoft why there seems to be two positions on Terminal Services...a public, very subdued position, and a private, seemingly very aggressive position.

Is it right that with SP2 for W2k3 the multi media support in a terminal server enviroment is much more better and that Seemless Applications are possible?

Can / When will you allow TSCal to be run on Multiply servers to avoid having a single point of failure. This new share TSCal would both share TSCal info

At the moment it can be a nightmare to manage User profiles. In most TS environments Managed profiles just will not work. Can MS include some tools in to make profiles a lot more manageable

Since NT 4.0 TSE the AltGr button combos on swedish, finnish and some other international keyboards simply refuse to work. Will this issue ever be solved?
(For example AltGr+2 is used for the @ symbol. This just doesn't work...)

I know I missed your visit, but it would be nice to have them acknowledge when Sysprep will be partition independent. Another words, if Citrix is used to remap server drive letters to respect the connecting clients' C: drive (we all know M$ is going to implmenting this in some form), then Windows 2003 Sysprep should not be resetting the server drive letters to C: and D: every time. Windows 2000 Sysprep did not do this (maybe one out of 100 images it occured).

Building custom menus for user groups does not come easy. This, and locking down the terminal server, cold be facilitated more easily.

MAKE WINDOWS 2000 LICENSING WORK ON A ON MEMBER SERVER IN AN AD DOMAIN~ I really don't understand the purpose of a server not being able to handle licensing unless it's a DC or a workgroup server...sounds like a programming short-cut or something...a.k.a. bug, even if it's ""intended"" to work that way...

user profile is a big problem, downloading and save back make roaming profile useless (with repid growing of the size, it simply just become slower).
MS should spend more effort on this

How do you disable the media player in IE? We have user that connect to the internet through a terminal server session and go into sites that have video's. I want to stop the user's from using the video. What do i need to do?
