Tarantella
just announced that New Moon Canaveral iQ 2.0 is now available. This product
should give Citrix a run for their money, since it directly competes with them
and costs less than $100 per user (compared to $200-$400 for Citrix MetaFrame
XP). Canaveral iQ 2.0 doesn't do everything that MetaFrame does, but Canaveral
does have intelligent file-type association, location-based application
publishing with location-based printer mappings and location-based security
policies. Canaveral's administration is fully web-based, with the ability to
delegate administrative options to multiple users. I'll be posting a full review
of the product in late July.
