I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. Then I thought about all that money Microsoft was spending and I guess it had to happen.
I was on the Microsoft Download Center today when I noticed an add. I was downloading some pre-requisites needed for Microsoft System Center Essentials (the "lite" version of System Center for small companies) when I got hit by a security dialog. You know the one; the one that says this site "is not in your trusted list and I am going to block it unless you hit about 7 buttons". And I just clicked without really looking but as it flashed away I swore it said "add." and something for the site name.
Sure enough, the download center came up and there was a small add for Best Buy. "Get it all at Best Buy" with a "start now" button was neatly tucked into the page (I needed ASP.NET 2.0). Just a small thing, but there it was. I guess it was bound to happen.
