I was just hoping that someone may have some information in regards to our situation here. I am a Network Engineer for a mid-size company and would hope to deploy Office Communicator 07 to all (or most) of our users as not only a Presence and IM tool, but also a voice chat and video (possibly).

It’s a stretch, but I was just wondering if there were any other pieces of information that could be useful in my search. I’ve been charged with investigating this project and potentially implementing it once the technologies are available.

It is my understanding that the reason for those functions not working is because of the audio codec employed in XenApp (Presentation Server 4.5). I had also heard about the “Ulysses” driver being worked on that MAY allow for voice. I’d also heard that it may be Terminal Services itself that was causing the incompatibility with voice and/or video. Is it going to be a situation where we’d have to implement WinServ08 AND a new version of XenApp to make this possible? ANY information would be invaluable.

Thank you for your time!

Unfortunately, no. I've not gotten any response on this anywhere, nor can I find any further info online.

I'll be sure to post any findings here so that others may be benefitted.

Thanks,
Kenmo
