Can't connect to license server on different AD domain, in the Licensing forum on BrianMadden.com

Ladies, Gents,

Having a weird one with connecting a W2K3 TS / PS4 server to license servers on another AD domain/ip network. All servers can communicate with each other on the network however when I try to connect to either TS or PS4 lic server it fails. There is no firewalling and if I join the PS4 server to the same domain as the lic servers, all works well.

On the TS side, the license console cannot find any lic servers, then if I try to specify it in TS Config it fails to connect.

On the PS4 side, the farm settings/data store was setup on a MS SQL05 server with SQL, not AD authentication for access. However services, such as IMA, fail to start with connection errors.

All my problems go away when the PS4 server is apart of the same domain the lic servers. What am I missing or what could be going wrong?
