I haven't found anything specific about this. I am migrating from a PS 3.0 farm to PS 4.5. In the past I have had Windows CE clients with published desktops, but part of my migration involves replacing the CE devices with XP Embedded devices running PNAgent. I will no longer be publishing desktops, just specific applications through the PNAgent. Since I won't be using desktops any longer, do I need to continue to use Terminal Services Profiles?

Yes, you will still require TS Profiles. What do you think is different between desktop and applications? The only difference is that users don't see the explorer shell, but thir profile still needs to be maintained, i.e. registry hive, application data, desktop, my documents, start menu....

Typically one will redirect the desktop, start menu and desktop to the network and use hybrid/flex TS profiles with a local mandatory profile, so minimal data is copied back & forth at logon/logoff.
