Anyone,

I have recently installed “Access Essentials” and installed it on a MS running Server 2003. It works perfect from the internal site configuration. But clients try to connect from the External site using the Web Interface are getting the following error - "there is no citrix presentation server configured on the specified address'. The clients login to the web interface ok but when they try to run any published application this error appears.

My configuration is a single static IP, port forwarding directly to the internal citrix server. I have opened and forwarded these ports: 1494 – 1024 – 80 – 443, but I’m still getting the same fault. Does anyone know what “access route” I should use in the External site, should it be “Direct, Alternate, Translated, Gateway Direct etc…

Also do I need to use the Firewall Translations with any off these setting?

Thanks

To get additional information, in WI right click one of the published apps and save target (the 'lanch.ica') locally. Open the file in editor and you will find a line in such a format
"Address=IP-Address:Portnumber".
Is this the internal or external IP?
What's about the Portnumber? 1494 or 2598?
I hope I understand you right: the static IP is an external (ALTERNATE) address for your server!? If it's so, you have to use altaddr on the server and to set Alternate in WI for the senders IP.
If you enabled session reliability, you have to open Port 2598.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the response,

My configuration is as follows,

Internal Domain Server: 192.168.7.254
Internal Member Server: 192.168.7.253 - Which is my Access Essentials server.
Internal Router/Firewall: 192.168.7.1
Public IP: 81.140.59.115 or http://citrix.mydomain.com

I have opened ports 1024, 1494, 443, 80 and forwarded them to (192.168.7.253).

When I type http://citrix.mydomain.com I get the Access Essentials web interface, at which point I can log into. But when I click on a published App, it installs the ica32.web.msi and then begins to launch, but after 30 secs it comes back with "there is no citrix presentation server configured on the specified address".

The info you requested is "Address=192.168.7.253:1494"

I have configured "Access Route" to "Alternate"
What "Firewall Translations" must I use with Alternate?

Thanks

Brian

Hi Brian,

Access Essentials creates two web interface instances - internal and external. When you use the Quick Start utility to configure external access, the wizard graphically guides you through selecting the best config for your needs. The wizard will also install CSG as needed and configure the WI to work with CSG.

Try using the Quick Start utility and report back any problems you are having after doing so.
